Country Spotlight: Japan: Market Access Landscape for Medical Devices
In June 2023, the government of Japan released the honebuto policy document which sets the annual economic and fiscal budget direction.
The policy document highlighted potential reforms to Japan’s healthcare spending priorities, in view of the fast ageing population, including funding for innovative medical devices, and budget impact adjustments from triple revision of healthcare, long-term care, and disability welfare services next year.
In addition, the foreign averaging pricing methodology (FAP) will be revised at the start of FY2024 as part of the two-year annual review and active industry discussions with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) have commenced.
We are excited to announce this webinar bringing together senior GA and MA industry practitioners to discuss ongoing advocacy discussions in Japan, and engage in active dialogue with industry experts. It’ll be an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the future trajectory of Japan’s health policy landscape and its potential impact on the medical device industry.
