Meenakshi Nevatia brings over 20 years of healthcare experience. In this role, Meenakshi is responsible for building Stryker’s business strategy and setting up the organization for long-term, sustainable growth in the Indian market. Additionally, one of Meenakshi’s priorities is to build a winning culture and cultivate a strong commitment to Stryker’s mission and values in India. Meenakshi is also responsible for building long-term partnerships with industry bodies and government organizations and driving transparency amongst stakeholders. Meenakshi is on the Board of the Medical Technology Association of India (MTAI); is Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed) India Executive Committee; Chair of the Med Tech Committee at AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) and a member of the Governing Council of Nathealth.
Prior to joining Stryker, Meenakshi had a successful 15-year stint with Novartis, where she served in various sales, marketing and business leadership positions across geographies. In her last assignment as the country president and pharma division head for Novartis in Thailand, Meenakshi successfully led strong business performance. Prior to these roles, Meenakshi had a successful track record of serving in various leadership positions in country, region and global at Novartis across Spain, Portugal, UK, Switzerland & Hong Kong.
Meenakshi started her career with McKinsey & Company where she led various projects in the Healthcare Practice (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices & Health Insurance) across several markets including India, Singapore, U.S. and South Africa.
Meenakshi has a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A), and Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics from the Presidency College, Kolkata.
Narendra Varde, Managing Director for Roche Diagnostics India and Neighboring Markets is a competent leader with a diversified and deep knowledge of the healthcare industry.
With a total of 15 years of experience in the IVD, Medical Devices & Pharmaceutical industries, most recently as General Manager and Country Head at Abbott Diagnostics India.
His tenure at Abbott included country leadership in Diagnostics business for India and Nepal. He also held the role of Regional Country Manager for the Abbott Point of Care Diagnostics business in the United Kingdom, France and Ireland between 2017 and 2018, with a strong growth focus.
Narendra brings global acumen, high degree of professionalism, adaptability and a collaborative style. His extensive knowledge and leadership approach builds across 7 countries with exposure to different cultures and working styles.
Narendra earned his degree in Business Administration from HEC, Paris (École des hautes études commerciales de Paris). He is an active spokesperson for a number of industry associations and professional organizations such as FICCI and others. He is also on the governing council of NATHEALTH.
Tushar is heading Abbott Vascular as General Manager for India & South Asia since last 10 years. In this role, he establishes and manages key executive relationships with various stakeholders throughout the healthcare industry, with a focus on the application of the full spectrum of the company’s products, programs and services. In his span of 20 years with Abbott, Tushar has been focused on strategic leadership, innovation and sustained market leadership position.
Tushar is a Harvard alumni and brings 25 years of healthcare experience and has worked extensively to drive initiatives for the development of medical device firms in India. He is empanelled with various industry bodies like FICCI, Am Cham, USIBC and CII to name a few.
Vivek Kanade (48) is Managing Director of Siemens Healthcare Private Limited (SHPL) since April 2021.
He has been Executive Director of SHPL since 2016, leading the business for Siemens Healthineers in India including, manufacturing, sales and distribution, strategy for “Zone India”, comprising of neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Before he assumed responsibilities of “Zone India”, he was Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for the Refurbished Business, based out of Forchheim, Germany.
During his association with Siemens for over 27 years, he has held various positions across diverse functions in Sales, Service Management, Regional Management and Modality Management.
He has been leading the team in Zone India towards the common goal of shaping the future of healthcare, so that medicine becomes more precise and affordable, value is at the heart of care delivery, patients are treated as consumers, and healthcare becomes digital.
Dr. Rishubh Gupta is the Commercial Director of Baxter India and has been with the company since 2014. He is responsible for driving Baxter’s business growth in India, in line with the company’s vision of facilitating patients’ access to critical therapies, thereby helping them live longer, healthier, and more active lives.
Rishubh joined Baxter in 2014 in the Medication Delivery division (India) and then moved to the APAC region to drive development and innovation across critical geographies and business units.
He held a range of positions and was accountable for key assignments and projects across numerous markets in the areas of change management, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, digital transformation, and global integration.
Appointed as Baxter India’s Commercial Director in October 2021, Rishubh is seasoned commercial leader with a proven track record of effectively turning around businesses by combining a strategic approach that places a strong emphasis on the customer, execution, culture, and people.
Rishubh earned a master’s degree in hospital administration from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a bachelor’s degree in dentistry from Sudha Rustagi College of Dental Sciences and Research.
Manoj Madhavan took over as the Managing Director for Boston Scientific, India Hub in July 2019 and leads the Boston Scientific business in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives & Sri Lanka. He is a member of the Boston Scientific Asia Pacific Regional Leadership Team.
Manoj has over 17 years of experience in leadership roles across sales, marketing and general management and has worked on unique opportunities in both developed and emerging markets on various assignments.
Manoj joined Boston Scientific Global in March 2014 as part of the Global Leadership Development Program. Over the last 6 years, he has worked in various marketing and business leadership roles in the US, Australia & New Zealand & South East Asia. Prior to taking over the business for the India Hub, Manoj was the Country Head for Boston Scientific Philippines and ASEAN Marketing Leader for the Urology & Pelvic Health Business, where he scripted a business turnaround and delivered one of the fastest growth rates in the Asia Pacific region. Under his leadership, BSC Philippines team won the ‘Regional Excellence Award’ in 2018 for delivering outstanding performance across all key commercial metrics.
Prior to Boston Scientific, Manoj had tenured with Johnson & Johnson as the Business Manager for Tier 2/3 Markets in India where amongst other high impact projects, he spearheaded the outsourced sales model for surgical capital equipment in India. Before Johnson & Johnson, Manoj spent few years in Financial Services in India as well.
Manoj has an MBA from INSEAD and MDI, Gurgaon. He is extremely passionate about patient outcomes, market access and has a keen interest in collaborating with governments and public organizations to ensure improved access to healthcare. Manoj is currently leading a high-powered team in BSC India to positively impact patient outcomes in one of the most critical market globally for BSC by making collaboration, innovation and empathy as the foundation stones of business.
Sandeep Makkar is the Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson MedTech India (JJMI) and a member of Johnson & Johnson Asia Pacific Regional Leadership Team. Sandeep is an authentic global healthcare leader with a successful track record defined by customer-first credo, growth mind-set, actionable strategies, focused execution, inspirational leadership and consistency in delivering results.
An avid learner, he earned his MBA and Certificate in Health Sector Management at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in USA. Sandeep has a strong background in healthcare and medical devices spanning 23 years, including diverse experiences in global strategic marketing for product design and brand management, business development, and commercial roles in USA, Japan, India and Asia Pacific region. Sandeep successfully led strategy and portfolio planning for a USD +8 billion global medical device business for Johnson & Johnson. He also shaped the product pipeline and led lifecycle management for a USD +1 billion market leading brand in medical devices.
In his current role, Sandeep is actively engaged in helping change the trajectory of India’s healthcare environment through active participation and leadership positions in key healthcare industry bodies. He coaches talent and business leaders for maximizing their potential and impact. He is also a strong advocate of developing women leaders at all levels in healthcare and is a sponsor of Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association. As a result of strong organizational development and engagement, Forbes Magazine recognized Johnson & Johnson as India’s Best Employers in 2021 and 2022.
Sandeep and his family are invested in community impact initiatives globally and in India, including Red Cross Society, Operation Smile and local organizations. Sandeep recently co-led a widely acclaimed partnership between Government of India, Micro/Small/Medium enterprises, and industry leaders for making India self-reliant on high quality and significantly low cost COVID-19 testing swabs in record time. Under his leadership, Johnson & Johnson India received multiple corporate social responsibility awards in 2021 and 2022 including Economic Times Now World Award, Mahatma Award, FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award and Integrated Health and Wellbeing Council (IHW) Award.
As Managing Director of Terumo India Private Limited since 2019, Shishir holds responsibility for Terumo’s businesses in India for Cardiac & Vascular, and Hospital Products segments.
Shishir has over 20 years of work experience in the medical devices with Johnson & Johnson across different geographies. Shishir was Country Director for Ethicon in Russia and CIS countries and later worked in USA as Senior Director, Global Solutions with the Strategic Customer Group to create a global portfolio of solutions and services across the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices sector.
Mandeep Singh Kumar is the Vice President and Country General Manager for Intuitive India since. 2018. He draws from over 25 years of experience in successfully leading and transforming businesses in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Devices with responsibility for P/L management, strategy building, commercial excellence, and market development across the globe in various roles.
Mandeep joined the company as the first country GM of Intuitive in India. In his current role, he is responsible for building & executing an in-country strategy to enhance patient reach, drive customer robotic programs and expand commercial operations. He is also spearheading Intuitive’s mission of delivering patient-focused, minimally invasive care in India by successfully collaborating with leading Government and private hospitals. His management abilities have helped develop the RAS ecosystem
through successful collaborations with various stakeholders.
Before joining Intuitive, he served as the Chief Commercial Officer for GE Healthcare, India, and South Asia. He led the sales, distribution, and commercial excellence teams in driving revenue and new growth initiatives. He has also served as the GM for Global Commercial Excellence for GE Medical Diagnostics business based in London, and Director WW Emerging Markets Strategy and Business Manager, Asia Pacific, for BD Diabetes Care based in Singapore.
Throughout his career, Mandeep has demonstrated the capability to lead and grow the business profitably and develop expansion and growth plans aligned with the market potential and organization priorities. He has also championed high-performing country and business teams for achieving higher capabilities and business results.
Mandeep holds an MBA and an M. Pharm degree from Panjab University, India.
