Importance of collaborative efforts to overcome collective challenges 

John Collings, Chairman of APACMed’s Board of Directors, gave an inspiring address to celebrate our 10^thAnniversary during the AGM. He discussed the ever-evolving healthcare landscape in the Asia Pacific and the progress we have made thus far in reducing inequalities faced in healthcare. He also highlighted the exciting opportunities and significant challenges that will be faced by the MedTech industry in the years to come. To end his address, John emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts to overcome challenges and foster positive change for healthcare in the Asia Pacific. 

Leveraging on AI in Healthcare 

With AI advancing rapidly in the recent years, it was at the forefront for the insightful discussions that took place during the AGM.  

John Eng, Vice President Healthcare, Singapore Economic Development Board, gave a keynote address on “AI in Healthcare – Perspectives from Singapore’s MedTech Sector”. A key takeaway from John Eng’s address is how Singapore aims to be a centre for all things AI and MedTech, and the country plans to achieve this by developing an ecosystem to provide an all-encompassing location for MedTech companies to conduct AI-enabled R&D.  

Continuing our AI session, our guests Anissh Pandey, Rajesh Shenoy, Farid Jamshidian, and Anastasia Miros helmed the panel discussion ‘From Information to Intelligence: Navigating the next DEC-AI-DE in Healthcare.’ The discussion explored the impact AI will have on the MedTech industry in the upcoming decade and how it can be best utilised to improve the standards of healthcare in the Asia Pacific. 

The discussions serve as a reminder that it is truly an exciting time for the MedTech industry. APACMed is thrilled to engage with its key stakeholders and will continue to work with its member companies to move the industry forward.
