The import and manufacture of products and raw materials containing hazardous substances is increasingly regulated under international agreements such as the Stockholm Convention.
The APACMed ESG Working presents the Database of Hazardous Substances, produced in collaboration with Vista Health. This is an initiative to track a group of priority hazardous substances used in the production of medical devices (PFAS, DEHP, D4/5/6, BPA, UV-328 and Dechlorane Plus) that have the potential to be restricted or banned for environmental/health reasons. The goal is to compile proof points to support future efforts to advocate for carve-outs or exemptions from blanket imposition ofenvironmental regulations, for use cases in Medical Devices and IVD.
