Diagnostics is a critical component of achieving UHC and building resilient, cost-effective healthcare systems. The World Health Organisation passed a landmark resolution on “Strengthening Diagnostics Capacity” in May 2023 emphasizing the critical role of diagnostics across all tiers of healthcare and urged governments to bridge existing gaps at country level.
The policy memo communicates APACMed’s position in response to the WHA resolution on strengthening diagnostics capacity. The memo leverages momentum from the resolution to generate awareness of the need to prioritize improving diagnostic capacity. We hope to encourage policymakers in APAC to implement the objectives of the WHA resolution tailored to each market’s capabilities – to ensure continued accessibility and quality of diagnostics.
