Advancing Data Access, Sharing, and Transfer Policies for the MedTech Industry in the Asia-Pacific Region

The future of healthcare in the Asia-Pacific region hinges on harnessing the potential of health data, as it plays a pivotal role in achieving sustainability, efficiency, and equity within the healthcare ecosystem. To fully realize this potential, trust and partnerships between the public and private sectors are crucial. Recognizing the continuing need for greater standardization with respect to access, sharing, and transfer policies, APACMed, along with a multidisciplinary set of stakeholders, has embarked on a journey toward the value of health data. This paper advocates for a collaborative approach, emphasizing the need for more impactful, seamless data sharing ecosystems, and presents a compelling case for policy intervention, offering industry examples and recommendations for regulators and policymakers.
