The import and manufacture of products containing hazardous substances is increasingly regulated under international agreements like the Stockholm Convention.
The APACMed ESG Working Group, in collaboration with Vista Health, is launching the Database of Hazardous Substances to track priority chemicals used in the production of medical devices—PFAS, DEHP, D4/5/6, BPA, UV-328, and Dechlorane Plus—that may face restrictions or bans due to environmental or health concerns. This initiative aims to provide proof points for advocating carve-outs or exemptions in environmental regulations for medical devices and IVDs. Join us for the launch session to explore the database and its role in future advocacy efforts.
