India is an emerging medical device market with huge potential due to its vast population, increasing income, rising healthcare demand, along with increased health insurance coverage.
Despite India’s remarkable growth potential for the medical device sector, certain aspects of the current reimbursement and pricing framework must be re-evaluated to ensure sustained market growth and patient access to cutting-edge healthcare innovations. APACMed and Parexel have collaborated to publish this position paper to discuss India’s current medical device reimbursement framework, issues, learnings from other markets, and to offer recommendations.
